The Comedy Bin - The Old School Yard The Comedy Bin - The Old School YardI haven\'t done a spot at every single one of the many ComedyBin gigs, I must confess, but of the ones I have done, this is the best by a very long chalk - even though I like some of the others quite a lot. Marie is an excellent MC, and does a terrific job both of promoting the gig, and of keeping the night running at a good, brisk pace. The gig consistently attracts a good sized group of Actual Audience™ which makes it a much better venue for real-world feedback on material. Also, the venue is fascinating. Quirky in the extreme, and fascinating.
Pear Shaped Pear ShapedI meant 15+ 11 years at its current home, and 4 years before that at Oval.
Pear Shaped Pear ShapedThe promoter of Pear Shaped has been in touch to confirm that this night is still going strong, after more than 11 years. So book yourself a spot and get along there.
Laughter Lung Laughter LungFollowing a change of location, Laughter Lung is still very much alive and kicking. The gig guide entry has been updated, and now gives details of the gig's new home. Many thanks to Scott for the update.
Hungry Miller's Comedy Laugh Bag Hungry Miller's Comedy Laugh BagDid this gig on the 14th of March 2011. It was excellent, and one of the best gigs I've ever had the pleasure of performing at. The guys who run it do an excellent job, everything is well organised, the stage, lighting and sound are all professionally done, and you get the thrill of appearing on the same bill as some big names. The night I was there, there was also an excellent and very enthusiastic audience, and I understand that is pretty much par for the course.
