Getting Fringe-fit, and other news

E-mail Print

There are two comedy courses coming up in June and July:
Click on Absolute & Almost Beginners for details about it
Click on Getting Your Show Ready - workshops which do what it says on the tin
(if any links don't work for you please email us for details in a different format)

Also if you're performing at the Edinburgh Fringe &/or other comedy/fringe festivals, here's a couple of things which you may also find useful:
PR/press advice sessions from a respected comedy reviewer
Professional filming of your show as a showreel etc
Click here for information about both

Other news:
The last semi-final of Amused Moose Laugh Off is this coming Saturday.  Go to www.amusedmoose.com/shows for information - it is almost sold out.   The final on 19 August during the Edinburgh Fringe is already set to be top quality.

Entries for AmusedMoose Laughter Awards open on 1 June (deadline is 5 August) for comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.  Initial information on www.amusedmoose.com/laughoff will be expanded shortly - once you've decided that your show fits the criteria, then start planning to film it (maybe check 'professional filming' above).  We are very grateful to leading dvd producer 2 Entertain for their continuing support of Amused Comedy Awards, including showcases, Amused Moose Laugh Off and Amused Moose Laughter Awards.

And finally, just to say that AmusedMooseSoho closes its doors this Saturday, and reopens at the end of September, while we get ourselves fully prepared for our roster of
Edinburgh Fringe shows:

Amused Moose Laugh Off final
Amused Moose Laughter Awards' "Top Ten"(semifinal) and Final
Amused Moose Comedy Awards showcases
After Hours Comedy

More details later, or on www.edfringe.com now or very soon ... just key Moose or After Hours into the search box.

So, to get you over the lack of AmusedMooseSoho over the next couple of months and to get you into a Fringe Festival mood, how about seeing awardwinning 'best debut' show ....

E-mail Print

On Tuesday, if you are interested in finding out more about becoming a comedian, and perhaps enrolling for one of the highly recommended (by the likes of Greg Davies, Rhod Gilbert and Andi Osho) "Absolute & Almost Beginners" comedy courses, there's an Information Evening in Camden.

The evening includes the opportunity to meet Logan Murray who leads the course, some people who have already enrolled for the next course, and also four graduates (James Redmond, Funmbi, Sarah Mills and Kelly Kingham) who will also be performing in a mini-showcase to demonstrate the stand-up that they are doing.

Click here for details of the Information Evening, and the next comedy course which starts next month and is becoming full.  It is the last course until mid/late Summer.

If sketch writing and performing interests you but you don't know where to start, or you've started but got stuck, here's a course that might well solve all that for you.

The course's finale is a showcase at a properly equipped Fringe theatre in London, and there's even an extra 'Practicalities' seminar for those who actually want to know how to put on a sketch show at the Edinburgh Fringe for example.

There are just a few places left on the last of the well-respected Absolute & Almost Beginners comedy course before September, which starts very soon.

Click here for details - if the link doesn't work for you, just email us and we'll send them to you in a different format.
